PM Fundamentals is a crash-course for new-hires or those with very little knowledge/experience in the field (greenhorns would be better off in the PRE-PM course).  This can and has also benefited those with experience.

We break the truck into 4 quadrants and teach the technicians to do as much as possible in each quadrant before moving to the next area of the truck.  This minimizes repetitive motion, encourages comprehensive PM skills and also aims to dramatically reduce PM times while improving PM quality.

The PM sheet is left alone until near end of PM where technician then fills it in with data gathered in a notebook.  Although this seems repetitive it dramatically speeds up the PM.

Write-ups are discussed with supervisor/manager at the appropriate point during class so technicians learn to open a dialog based on what they find and also what their supervisors are expecting.
